Steel Bridge is a comprehensive, student-driven project experience challenging students with the analysis, design, fabrication, and construction of a steel bridge. Throughout the process, the bridges must meet various standards of durability, performance, construction time, economy, and aesthetics, encouraging innovation and collaboration from beginning to finish. Each year, the bridges are assembled, judged, and load-tested during the Pacific Southwest Student Symposium (PSWS) in conjunction with the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC). |
