Concrete Canoe develops the hull design of a canoe and tests different concrete mixes in order to construct a light and strong canoe with optimal dynamics. This project allows members to integrate their creative designs into the canoe's aesthetics, reflecting the efforts and passions of the team. The Concrete Canoe team also conditions and prepares members for the canoe races, which calls for teamwork and physical coordination.
The Concrete Canoe Team designs and constructs their canoe throughout the year, leading up to the races at the Pacific Southwest Student Symposium (PSWS), led by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).
